T-SHIRT DESIGN RULES
- SQUARES AND RETANGLES ARE NOT ALLOWED!
The human body
is not hard edged (yeah I know you’re ripped but the other folks
wearing your shirts aren’t…) Oh yeah – you have a responsibility
to not ruin the appreciation of a great body by covering it with
something stupid.
- DON’T BE BORING.
Must I repeat myself? Don’t be boring.
- APPAREL IS A MOVING TARGET – BE LEGIBLE.
Okay- here it is.
Graphic apparel is moving target. Make it easy to get your message
out. The sound of “one hand clapping” is not the goal.
- KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID.
Yes it’s the KISS syndrome – keep it
simple and strong – Go for the GOLD!
That way no one
can miss what you are trying to say .
- CONTRAST
Dark gray on black is not going to work. Subtlety
is cool and can be an effective design concept but make sure your
logo stands out;. It doesn’t have to be loud – just clear.
- CHOOSE THE RIGHT PRODUCT
There are so many types of fabrics
and styles and items today that you need someone that can give you
the information and advice to help you select the correct items.
- FONTS
The right font can make or break a design. As a
screen printer I also take into consideration of spacing each
character correctly so your text is clear and not “muddy”
